Logan + Julia | Romantic Copper Harbor Winter Wedding

Logan + Julia

December 30, 2017

Copper Harbor, Michigan

"Logan and I went to Chicago for our fourth home anniversary in July of 2016. He proposed to me in the pouring rain on the side walk, it was absolutely just like the movies and I love that it was just the two of us. Every time it rains I think of that night." - Julia, bride

I met Logan and Julia for the first time over coffee at 5th + Elm where we absolutely clicked. Soon after, we took their engagement photos in Marquette and they revealed how absolutely unafraid they are to be themselves in front of the camera. They're a photographer's dream!

On their wedding day, Logan arrived at the Brockit Studio (thanks, Adam!) in Hancock, Michigan about 20 minutes before noon to meet his beautiful bride-to-be for their first look.

Coming in from a December day in Michigan, Julia had fuzzy socks and long-johns on during the first look, hahaha! She swapped them out to slide into her formal shoes for indoor portraits.

Cue the Julia's lovely ladies + bridesman:

Logan and Julia chose the Dapple Gray Bed and Breakfast just outside of Copper Harbor on the Keweenaw Peninsula for their ceremony venue:

Their ceremony was incredibly close knit. They only had their wedding party, parents, grandparents, and immediate family present to make their celebration more intimate and emotional. In the middle of the ceremony, they passed Logan and Julia's rings for each person present to bless.

Julia and Logan both love the winter and specifically always wanted a romantic winter wedding. They wanted something different, but still wanted all of their dear friends and family to be able to attend their wedding. Therefore they chose a date between Christmas and New Years, when everyone would be home and off of work and school.

Logan and Julia hosted their reception at the Magnuson Inn in downtown Houghton where they joined their guests for a vegan brunch.

"Julia first went vegan in 2015 and in July of 2016 Logan went vegetarian. Finally Logan made the transition to veganism in July of 2017. We both have a serious love for animals and living healthfully. For our wedding we wanted to share our love for delicious vegan food with our friends and family. One of the passion she Logan and I share is food, especially breakfast foods. We opted to do a "breakfast for dinner" buffet, complete with a waffle bar, breakfast potatoes, veggie sausages, cinnamon rolls, and a donut tower in place of a traditional wedding cake."
