Friendship est. Fall 2007

I'll be completely honest, I am ecstatic about the final image posted in this series. When I photograph someone near to my heart, I have this obsessive need to document them exactly how I want to remember them. It's almost intimidating to photograph friends and family because of the expectations I set for myself. It's not the same as photographing any of my other clients. With any of my other clients, their faces are fresh, their stories new and fascinating. It just clicks; I can instantly hone in on their apparent beauty. I feed off of the details I learn as their session unfolds. But those I'm close with? When I've known someone for so long, everything is beautiful. How could I possibly encompass the fullness of their existence in one frame? I'm not sure if there are exact words I can pour into this brief paragraph to describe the personal success of this image, but its an image I can connect with forevermore.
