Justin + Jessica | Belsolda Farm Wedding
Justin and Jessica wed at Belsolda Farm on August 10th, 2024 and held a strong emphasis on being present with and well-documenting all of the people the love the most. Jessica and their daughter, Lyla, got ready for the day at their rustic home in the woods along with much of the important women in their lives.

Justin and the men got ready for the day at a rental cabin just south of Marquette, not too far off from the wedding venue. My second shooter, Kim of ByKimGirl, knocked their photos out of the park and was the greatest complement to the day!

When Justin arrived at the venue, he had a first look with his mother, read a letter from Jessica, and had the sweetest first look with his daughter that definitely brought tears.

Jessica hid with her ladies and a few close family members in Belsolda’s bridal suite as guests began arriving.
Just before the ceremony began, we snuck around the side of the building for a few bridesmaid and family photos.

Justin and Jessica wed under the dreamy canopy of apple trees in Belsolda’s iconic orchard. Lyla watched on from her grandparents’ laps and at one point crawled up to adjust her mom’s dress. There were few dry eyes during the vows.

A few favorite candids during the family photo rush…

With Belsolda’s wide variety of photo options, we next headed to a grassy knoll toward the back of the property for wedding party portraits and shenanigans.

When the wedding party returned to the barn for cocktail hour, Justin, Jessica and Lyla took a ride to the beach along US 41 in Harvey to incorporate the majesty of Lake Superior. Lyla did so well for having such a busy and exciting day! Her auntie came along to help out so mom and dad could have a few portraits alone as well.

The reception was decorated with the simple bliss of ferns, wood discs, pretty linens, mixed matched serving bowls, and the magical abundance of light strings Belsolda is known for. One of my favorite details however, is that Jessica and Justin grew all of their food their wedding! MQT Nutrition worked with them to serve a beautiful, family style meal, providing a nostalgic and intimate dining experience. The wedding favors were pint glasses depicting illustrations made by Justin himself - he is so humble and an incredible artist. After dinner and cake, Jessica and the wedding party surprised Justin with a birthday cake as their wedding day was his birthday too!

Toward the end of the evening, we dashed out to the raspberry and blackberry bushes, clad with bursts of golden rod, for a few more dreamy portraits. While we didn’t get a bright, sunny golden hour, the last bits of light still promised warmth that captured the essence of an August wedding.

The evening concluded with sweet slow dances and wild dance-offs.
