Abgail + Jacob | Belle Isle Engagement | Detroit, MI

Their steps trace back a handful of years ago on winding wooded paths. Abigail first took notice of Jacob when she transferred high schools for her junior and senior year. They were both avid runners and teammates on the cross country team. By the time of their senior prom, they decided on togetherness. They attended colleges across a canal from one another and eventually lived together in quirky attic apartment of an old mansion in downtown Hancock. From there, they would move together to the Motor City, where Jacob began his career in electric engineering and Abigail forged her way in the world of art. By the time they were engaged, Ab and Jacob were living in their first home in metro Detroit with a neurotic tortoise shell cat and flocculent Great Pyrenees. While thriving they were in their newfound home, both longed and still do long for the more rugged nature they knew growing up in Michigan’s UP. To combine their urban world with a hint of the natural world that fostered their upbringing, we took their engagement session to Belle Isle.

These photos are a couple of years old - starting to dust off some goodies I hadn’t had time to share yet! Also, if you need s chuckle, we probably spent about 2.5 hours curling Abbey’s hair and used decent products that I see wedding hairstylists use frequently… yeah, it didn’t hold, hahaha.
