Jacob + Bridget | Candid Keweenaw County Courthouse Elopement
About a month out, Bridget sent me a message asking if I’d tag along for their elopement in Eagle River, MI at the Keweenaw County Courthouse. She and Jacob chose to solely invite their siblings as their witnesses. They rented an 1866 farmhouse seated just across the road from the courthouse itself where they got ready on separate levels and had a first look on the wraparound porch. Candid was the name of the game, though we did snag a few posed portraits just after the ceremony. From there, they walked together down the hill toward Lake Superior’s shore. After hunting for what they considered the perfect “wedding rock,” they treated themselves to dinner at Fitzgerald’s Restaurant (or as most lovingly refer to it: The Fitz). Once finished with dinner, they returned to the farmhouse where they popped a bottle of champagne, switched into pajamas and sliced into cake. Jacob, Bridget and company were unapologetically themselves through the elopement, and I hope you enjoy the honesty in the photos in terms of real emotion and their palpable humor.
