Patrick + Brittany | All of the Marquette Things: An Engagement Session
Patrick and Brittany began dating while attending Northern Michigan University! Although they currently live near Detroit, Marquette is near and dear to their hearts - so naturally they wanted to take their engagement photos there!
Marquette also just so happens to be where I met this amazing couple. Brittany took an intro photography course at the same time as I back in 2013 and remained a dear friend throughout our NMU years! I’m thankful for the hours she’s helped Ayden and I out while I was single-momming. When she started dating Patrick, it was inevitable that they had each “met their person.” I’ve had the honor of photographing them together before and let me tell you, you truly couldn’t fake the sweetness that simply radiates between the two.
Brittany and Patrick would’ve originally been saying I do on a rooftop in Kalamazoo this Saturday, but the COVID-19 pandemic forced a change of plans as they look ahead to the early summer of 2021 now. To honor what would’ve been their wedding week, I’m sharing their Marquette-themed engagement session to showcase what they love to do together: hang out on Lake Superior, sip brews at Ore Dock Brewing Co, climb Sugarloaf, enjoy the best food, and hang around the downtown in general!
We made a stop at NMU to retrace the steps of where their love story takes off!
Next stop: Ore Dock Brewing Co.
Side note from the pregnant photographer, I really could go for a Bramble on Rose right about now, hahaha.
Little did we know this would be the last time we’d all eat at Dia de los Tacos! Marquette has a few amazing food trucks and the taco truck was one of their favs while living there.
From downtown, we headed to now of their favorite hikes: Sugarloaf.
We ended the shoot running along a Lake Superior beach on Presque Isle:
I can’t wait to celebrate with you two next year <3
