I promised my best friend, Michaela, a session for her 30th birthday back in October. Once the leaves returned to the trees and ferns carpeted the forest floor in full vibrancy for summer, Michaela decided on lifestyle photos with her beloved Australian shepherd, Felice. In full honesty, we meant to take photos in a sprawling field of flowering phlox, but it would just so happen that they’d be mowed down a couple of hours before our session. Therefore we pivoted and took to the woods Michaela grew up in at her childhood home in Herman. We walked the wooded trails and visited a meadowy opening in the woods, where her childhood dogs rest in serenity.

And now for the unhinged edit… because dogs are weird, humans are weird and I’m here for it all… even when your herding dog decides to herd you, sits like a human or harasses you from the window… if you know Michaela and Felice, these photos are accurate, hahaha.
