Jessica | L'Anse Class of 2019
Every year I find myself in greater disbelief that the graduating class is actually graduating. Anyone else struggle with the fact people younger than you age too!? It’s a weird and obvious thing, but it’s kind of like how my little sister should always feel “little” to me… it’s kind of this wish that they can just stay little and innocent forever. I think I’m also just having a quarter-life crisis with my 25th birthday creeping up…
I used to work with Jessica’s mom at the Frostie Freeze in L’Anse during my high school years and I remember Jessica just being able to peek over the countertop for ice cream. I’ve also had the pleasure of photographing Jess and her brother back then too!
Here’s a fun throwback… peep the old picnic.com logo too, hahaha.
We started Jessica’s session with a summery lilac blouse and found a flower patch to literally swim through - it was dense!
Sports memorabilia shot:
We moved onto Pequaming - one of my favorite, go-to locations. Pequaming is the birthplace of my Grandma Cea and used to be a busy, little Ford town that is now only occupied by a handful of residents. The house my grandma was born and raised in no longer exists, nor do the streets, fences, and other houses that once made up a quaint, orderly neighborhood. What’s left are lofty grass patches, sizable oak trees (some of the hollow trunks were filled with cement by Henry Ford to reinforce them), a cemetery tucked behind an iron fence, and a few historical buildings. I photographed Jessica’s first photo session in Pequaming too, so it only made sense to revisit some of the same locations!
We concluded Jessica’s session at Curwood Park’s rocky beach along the bay, and Jess made her college announcement too!
Best wishes for the rest of your senior year, Jessica! The world can't wait to see what’s in store for you at the University of Alabama!
