Jeeves | 6 Months
Remember this tiny cutie?
Yeah… he’s 6 months now!?!?!
We adopted Jeeves as a young pup. He’s a German Shepard-husky mix and has been the perfect addition for our family. He plays well with Ayden, although it seems like they have actual sibling rivalry, haha! Jeeves is protective of our home, but a very lovable companion. He’s the most serious dog I’ve ever owned, but serious in a way where you almost think he’s a gentle, old man trapped in a dog’s body.
Here’s a few of my current favorite Jeeves traits:
He lays on the bath mat and waits for me in the shower daily
He doesn’t usually bark unless something seems threatening, and usually makes like “boof” sounds instead when he’s watching deer and squirrels out the window
Every morning before school (we’re still keeping our school routine while in quarantine), I’ll ask him to “go wake up the boy” and he’ll bolt to Ayden’s room with a wagging tail to get him up
He has a “yawn button” - if you rub and scratch his temples, he usually yawns within 10 second or so
Jeeves likes:
Going for leashed walks
Chasing chickadees that dive-bomb him from our lilacs
Rope toys and flat animal toys
Broccoli, carrots, and apples - he’ll pretty much eat any fruit or veggie that comes his way (that isn’t toxic!)
Being colder - he usually blocks the draft at our front door at night, ha!
Car rides
Playdates with other family dogs and my parents’ cat, Earl
Peanut butter!
Giving Dustin kisses (he’s stingy with me, hmph)
Running wild with the zoomies
Monching
Jeeves dislikes:
Being hot - we wonder how summer will be when he’s already panting at 40 degrees F!
Wind in his ears
When the deer nibble on his downed apple branches in our orchard… he gets jealous fast, hahaha
The cone of shame
When Dustin’s guitars are amped (he’s pretty sure there’s actually an intruder instead of bass)
When he’s not included on an excursion with us - when my parents watch him for a short while, he will usually wait by and stare at the door for quite a while before he decides to get comfortable
I hope you enjoyed the Jeeves update as a lighthearted break while much of everything else we’re consuming online lately is dismal and stress-inducing. Jeeves is absolutely a silver-lining for us and we all hope you find the silver-linings that bring you joy while we’re social distancing!
