Kyle + Katlyn | Marquette Mountain Engagement
Kyle and Katlyn started dating junior year of high school. When the both moved to Marquette to attend Northern Michigan University, Katlyn took the same intro sociology lecture as I - we didn’t know each other at all though! A couple semesters later, I met Kyle in a photography course. Over the years, we’ve gotten to know each other fairly well, and both Kyle and Katlyn have helped me so much by watching Ayden at times while I worked at the campus newspaper or had late chemistry labs. We were all very much a part of each other’s college experiences, and I can’t explain how excited I was when they contacted me to photograph their upcoming wedding in a place that holds so much meaning to us all!
We began their engagement photos at Little Presque Isle to capture Katlyn’s love for a boho woodsy vibe. The wind was wicked cold and wild, but they absolutely killed it and powered through!
Katlyn and Kyle were made for Marquette, a mecca for mountain biking, skiing, snowboarding, and so much more in the outdoor recreational world. We spent the rest of our shoot around Marquette Mountain, where I’m sure they couldn’t possibly recount the total hours they’ve spent there over the years. Katlyn specifically wanted to hike into an area along the bike trails where the rocky cliffs are adorned in vibrant mosses.
We embarked atop the Marquette Mountain for the indescribable views of the fall colors cascading their way down to Lake Superior.
Bring on the August wedding, I’m ready for you two and your crew!
