Sarah | L'Anse Class of 2019
In the winter months before Sarah’s senior session, I taught my first ever beginner photography workshop through the Baraga County Chamber of Commerce. Sarah was my only high schooler attendee, and seeing someone so driven at her age made my heart soar. Flash-forward to summer and I couldn’t be more honored to have the privilege to take another aspiring photographer’s portraits!
Sarah put so much thought and effort into planning her outfits and the general scenes she dreamed for in her senior photos. We began with this classy, gorgeous dress from Covington & Co:
One of her primary requests was to find a location with yellow flower fields. Whenever I think flowers, my mind goes straight to where I had my own senior photos taken. My godparents run Artley’s Greenhouse in Baraga where there’s a plethora of natural beauty to go around. She got her yellow flowers + more!
p.s. I had my own senior photo taken back in 2011 under the same tree as the next photo, except I wore this SUPER gaudy blue dress that resembled a piece of frosting, HA!!
One of the most important stops we made was to her grandparents’ gardens:
The sun had nearly dropped behind the tombolo of Pequaming as we traversed a rocky segment of coast along Sand Bay. The golden hour faded to blue hour, having the hues in these final frames leaving me dance behind the camera. When we figured the session was done and over, we stopped yet again along First Sand Beach where Sarah had just enough time and light for one more amazing outfit change - hello, overalls!!!
(this is where I need a heart-eyed emoji)
