Keith + Kelley | Fall Marquette Courthouse Elopement

At the end of summer 2023, I walked around holding in a big secret: my close cousin Kelley was eloping in October! For the longest time, Dustin and I were the only ones who really knew, but eventually Kelley and Keith let immediate family know and decided to invite their parents.

October 6th was a crisp, dreary morning with peak fall foliage, providing for a touch of visual warmth. Dustin, our children, and I stayed the night at Keith and Kelley’s house, where we got ready alongside them and their own children. Kelley and I laughed our way through figuring out her hair - I am definitely NOT a hairstylist. Thank God she (and I) are blessed with naturally beachy hair that goes wild with a little humidity! I helped her into her dream dress from Free People that had gorgeous undertones of purple, what I remember being Kelley’s lifelong favorite color. While she wanted everything to be low fuss, I collaborated with Protea Floral & Design to put together a bouquet for Kelley, a boutonniere for Keith, and a flower crown for their daughter that perfectly complemented the dress colors. Before heading off to the courthouse, we took a few photos against the trees in their backyard where the kids were comfortable and looking put together (it was a good move - the kiddos were not about photos in the cold drizzle after the ceremony!).

Keith and Kelley said their vows at the Marquette County Courthouse alongside their children, with Dustin and I, our children, and their parents in attendance. Afterwards they kept it low key and went for a celebratory lunch at Vango’s, where Kelley had waitressed in her college years. We’re so happy for the Upperstrom family! Dustin and I are so honored to have been their witnesses too!
