Bridget and Ethan vowed themselves to one another with close friends and family in what they believe to be one of the most magical places in the world: Eagle Harbor, Michigan.
Emily and Mike are expecting their first baby boy any day now. We expected their spring maternity session in Marquette to showcase the landscape coming back to life with starts of greenery — but instead, we were greeted with a flurry of snow in early May. This session brings together boho charm and nostalgic, moody vibes.
Beginning their session on the rocky shores of Lake Superior just steps from her grandma’s house, Arianna and Jesse’s engagement brought them adventuring around Eagle Harbor.
This autumn engagement session showcases peak fall foliage in Michigan’s UP, across a family field in Baraga, down canopied trails with towering maple and oak, and through dense pine and fern forests along the Sturgeon River.
Cooper and Jaycie are expecting their first son this spring and wanted to remember this chapter as they become parents. Their lifestyle maternity session captured life in their first home together with their two dogs.
Justin and Jessica wed beneath the canopy of apple trees at Belsolda farm alongside their daughter and those they love the most.
Connor and Kara scrambled up conglomerate crests, danced on the expansive shoreline of the Great Sand Bay, and cradled each other in the mist of a waterfall to make their session come to life.
While some of my favorite humans were in the UP recently for a friend’s wedding, we took to Tourist Park in Marquette for maternity photos. We revisited a location we used for engagement photos a few years prior. Molly kept the vibe simple with a long-sleeved lace shirt and jean overalls. The goal was just enough photos to commerorate this chapter before baby.
My grandparents entertained my idea to make creative portraits of them in the phlox at golden hour this spring. This is a big year for them; my grandpa turned 91, my grandma turned 90, and soon they’ll be celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary.
Jacob and Abbey’s steps trace back to winding wooded paths. They were both avid runners and teammates for their high school cross country team. By the time of their senior prom, they decided on togetherness. In years to come, they would move together to the Motor City, where they forged their careers and have since spent time exploring the urban scenes and pockets of nature in which we centered their engagement session around.
I like to believe that when you’re meant for one another, it shows in the little things, like photo sessions. When there’s authentic connection, there’s authentic photos. Jamie and Derek took their engagement announcement photos around the unmatched shores of Second Sand Beach and the Pequaming marina.
The light was very bright at 3pm but we made due using Cannon’s dad’s old truck around the parking structures of Houghton, MI.
Engagement photos in 2021, wedding photos in 2022, now maternity photos in 2024. Brian and Patricia opted for a minimalistic and timeless maternity shoot at Studio South in Marquette, MI.
Often I don’t get my blog posts out because I feel the need to write something more profound. This is my attempt to just share and let the images speak. Welcome to our month of June outside of work hours.
Just a few black and white frames of our Keweenaw summer kicking off, complete with a slip ‘n’ slide, nosy dog, and all of the Fort Nite moves.
Sometimes you just a need a photo refresh! I’ve loved photographing Josh and Maddie for quite some time! Just for fun, their proposal, their engagement photos, their wedding, and here we are now. Need another reason to scroll through these images? They brought their beloved golden doodle, Otto, along for the shoot who can be seen bouncing around and attacking all of the snow at the end!
Hailey and John had me over to document everyday shenanigans in their home, then invited me along for a hike on the Maasto Hihto trails. This post contains micro-moments of couch jumping, dog snuggling, and playing hockey in the living room. On the hike, they had packed snacks and set up a little picnic on the riverbank while throwing rocks, attempting to beat the splash record each time.
Michaela wanted lifestyle photos with her Australian shepherd, Felice. We took to the wooded trails and meadowy hills of her childhood home in Herman.
