Justin + Lena | Snowy, Adventurous Ironwood Elopement

Lena and Justin drove to the Gogebic County courthouse on snowy, late December morning. Their fat tire bikes were loaded in the back of their truck, and their two pups, Debo and Chico, waited with tails wagging in the backseat. For Lena and Justin, eloping was an easy decision for them - partly romantic, but also logistics. With Lena being a teacher, Christmas vacation was the perfect time to elope and to escape on a little getaway together.

Year 26

Entering age 26 doesn’t feel as scary as entering age 25 did. Something about turning a quarter of a century just made me feel old. I was stuck looming over the question of have I done enough so far if my life is a quarter of the way lived? But if there’s anything I’ve learned in the past year, it is that I’m still so young and feel full of life.

Holly | Class of 2020

Holly is one the sweetest souls you could ever meet and of my neighbors out in the small community of Keweenaw Bay. Her session brought us down to sites along the Sturgeon River, her grandparents’ dairy farm, and fields of barley. In the end, we definitely needed to include the cows.

Brandon + Amanda | October Backyard Wedding in Lower Michigan

On a cool, sunny October afternoon, Amanda and Brandon celebrated their union in their backyard with just their close family and friends. The maple canopy began burning bright red and orange above their homemade arbor of ash, as if the trees knew to time their changing leaves for their day despite most other surrounding trees still holding their green. This couple is near and dear to me, and I was honored to be able to both stand as a bridesmaid and photograph their love story shenanigans!

Brandon + Amanda | Midland Engagement Session

Personality doesn't come across repeating poses from pins that have been shared a million times over on Pinterest. Personality comes when YOU decide to be YOU. Brandon and Amanda, two of our dear friends, invited me to their new home in Midland, Michigan. They took their beloved "grocery getter” for a spin, cleaned up their lawn for their backyard wedding to be, and worked on their new hardwood floors HGTV-style - all while having fun and being unapologetically themselves!
